Senior Scientist

Ph.D. 1987, University of Natal, South Africa
At IOLR since 1989

Research interests:
Ecology of aquatic microbial communities, with emphasis on phytoplankton ecology. Ecosystems studied range from freshwater lakes and wetlands (especially Lake Kinneret) to marine (the Eastern Mediterranean). Recent focus on analysis of long-term datasets aimed at detecting environmental stress, on the ecology of key species in Lake Kinneret, in particular Peridinium gatunense and Aulacoseira granulata, as well as ecology of the littoral zone.
