Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research institute has been monitoring the its Mediterranean coast and marine area for over 50 years. Since 2019 the moniotirng reposrt are open to the public following the review of the scientific committee and the Ministries of Environmental protection and the Ministry of Energy.

Each monitoring report has 5 overarching chapters:

1. Marine biodiversity
2. Marine pollution
3. Marine litter (Mediterranean and the Gulf of Aqaba)
4. Climate change and the Eastern Mediterranean hydrographic system
5. Seafloor and sedimentology

Lake Kinneret

The Kinneret Lake has been monitored for over 60 years. As new technologies and aspects arise new monitoring chapters and issues were added to the annual report (e.g. INCCA).
